Common A/C Problems

• Warm or hot air flowing from vents: If you are having this problem, it usually means water has gotten into the AC. When this happens, the water combines with a refrigerant and creates corrosive acid. The acid eats away at components in the AC system like seals that keep the refrigerant from leaking. Without this coolant, your AC becomes less effective, and warmer air comes out the vent.
• Low or no air pressure coming from vents: Moisture in the evaporator core can cause a buildup of mold and debris in the ventilation system that can block airflow. It can also mean a restriction in the evaporator core or that you need a new blower motor.
• Funny smells: Excess moisture in the evaporator core can cause mold (from water in the system). It may mean a damp or dirty cabin air filter, or a blocked drain in the evaporator case.
