What Oil Does

• Engine runs hot, which means it has to work harder because it’s not being lubricated properly.
• The dashboard light to indicate an oil change is needed comes on.
• When you check your oil and it’s dark brown on the dipstick, it means the oil is dirty. Clean oil is a light brown and transparent.
• You start to hear grinding noises, which means you need to check your oil level immediately.
• You notice an oil leak under the vehicle or oil on other components of the vehicle.
