Head-to-Head

When you put the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 against the Ford F-150, you’ll see a lot of similarities. Both models offer multiple options and choices to fit a variety of buyers. The Silverado starts out with a four-cylinder engine compared to the F-150’s V6, but the horsepower is almost identical. The Silverado 1500 does get about 30 more lb.-ft of torque with the base engine. Chevy also has one extra trim, but both models offer a trim dedicated to off-roading and others that focus on luxury. When you get to the top trim, the Chevy offers a diesel engine that has better efficiency while still providing plenty of power. The Silverado 1500 offers slightly more towing capacity at the top trims to haul a trailer or RV.

Practical Amenities

At the base trim, the Chevy Silverado features vinyl seats for easier cleaning while the F-150 has cloth seats. Both models upgrade to premium materials with the higher trims. A bench seat is standard on the base trims along with practical features, such as power locks and windows. Only the Silverado 1500 includes keyless ignition as standard on all trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the board along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Navigation becomes standard on the highest trims for both brands to help you find your way to a new destination. A dual-zone climate control system is standard on the top trims for both trucks. You’ll enjoy more comfort features with the higher trims, such as heated and cooled seats with driver seat memory. You can adjust the driver’s seat with lumbar support to help reduce tired muscles.

Premium Safety

Even the base trim for both the Chevrolet and Ford models includes safety features, such as Automatic Braking and a backup camera. Only Chevy makes Forward Collision Warning standard on all models. An around view camera is available on both entry models. Pedestrian Detection is also standard for the Silverado 1500. When you get to the highest trims, both trucks are loaded with features. Only the Chevy has a heads-up display as standard. Active Lane Keep Assist is standard on both trucks with the top trims.
